Privacy at Heriton Canberra
Your project is personal.
We treat it that way.
When you share a home address, a site plan or a phone number, you are trusting us with more than project details. Our responsibility is to collect only what helps us serve you, explain why we need it, and handle it with care.
Privacy PolicyLast updated 14 July 2026
A practical commitment
Privacy should be understood, not buried in fine print.
Only what helps
We ask for information that is reasonably useful for an enquiry, quote, order, delivery, installation or support request.
Used with purpose
We use your information to respond and deliver the service you asked for — not to create an unrelated profile of you.
Shared carefully
We do not sell personal information. We share it only where needed to operate our service, complete the work, or meet a legal obligation.
Your voice matters
You can ask what we hold about you, request a correction, or raise a concern with a real member of our local team.
01
Information we collect
Depending on how you work with us, this may include your name, phone number, email address, delivery or project address, product preferences, measurements, quote selections, site conditions, and the messages, photos, plans or drawings you choose to send.
We usually collect this information directly from you through our website, email, phone, WhatsApp, in-person conversations or project documents. A builder, property manager or another person involved in your project may also provide relevant contact or site information.
Avoid sending sensitive personal information that is not needed for your project. If a plan or photo contains information about someone else, please make sure you are authorised to share it.
02
How we use your information
We use relevant information to understand and respond to your enquiry, prepare or follow up a quote, check product and installation requirements, arrange supply, delivery or installation, communicate about your project, provide after-sales or warranty support, maintain business records, improve our service, and protect our website and business from misuse.
If we need to use information for a materially different purpose, we will seek permission where appropriate or rely on another lawful basis.
04
Website data, analytics and tracking
When you visit our website, technical information may be collected automatically, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, approximate location and interactions with the site. We use Google Analytics, Vercel Web Analytics and the Meta Pixel to understand website performance, measure enquiries and improve our communications.
These services may use cookies, pixels or similar technologies. You can limit cookies and some tracking through your browser settings, privacy tools, or the settings offered by Google and Meta. Blocking them may affect measurement, but should not stop you from reading the website or contacting us directly.
When you submit a quote request, the latest details are also kept in your browser's local storage so the site can prepare your follow-up and WhatsApp message. This copy stays on that device until it is replaced or you clear the site's browser data.
05
Keeping information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, interference and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes limiting access to people who need the information for their work and using reputable service providers and appropriate technical safeguards.
No website, email service or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. If information is no longer reasonably needed, we aim to delete it or remove identifying details, subject to legal, accounting, warranty and legitimate business record requirements.
06
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, withdraw a consent you previously gave, or make a privacy complaint. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Contact us using the details below. We will acknowledge a privacy concern and work to respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
